Traditionally, the berries were harvested by hand, though this has changed as the demand for the popular fruit has increased. Acai palms are now farmed and mass-produced to keep up with the health-conscious fan base they have attracted.
Hi,
I am Hari Thummalapalli, just a person that is very determined to make his dreams come true. This is serious. I have everything I need to achieve my ultimate dreams of great health and wealth. So why haven’t I achieved them yet? That isn’t the right question. What do I have to do achieve them?
First, let’s take an inventory and see if I have some of the basic ingredients necessary for great success -
1. A person must be determined. check.
2. It helps to have a reasonably high intelligence. check.
3. It helps to live in a free country that has the right environment for success. check.
4. It helps to be in reasonable health. check.
5. It helps to be in a position where one is not financially stressed. check.
6. It helps to have a good education. check.
7. It helps to have some life experience. check.
8. It helps to be exposed to success methodologies. check.
9. It is great if one has had a moderate amount of success in the past so that the process can be reproduced. check.
10. No major hurdles. check.
Ok, it is clear that I should be able to achieve my dreams. Now I need a plan to achieve it and then take immediate and massive action. After that, I need to pace myself and sustain it for 100 days.
I will start the execution of my plan on August 6, 2007 (Monday) and I will accomplish my dreams by November 8, 2007 (Thursday). What are my dreams?
1. Health: I currently weigh 30 pounds more than I should. This is based on my ideal weight that I achieved in 1999. I want to lose this additional weight by the end of the 100 days. This should help me fit into my best clothes and lead a significantly happier life. This process should also dramatically improve my cholesterol numbers by 10 or 15 points. This is a secondary goal though.
Accomplishments: The purpose of documenting these accomlishments is to help me recognize that I can achieve the goals I set for myself and follow through with a strategic plan.
On December 31, 2005 I took up a challenge and decided not to drink coffee or soda for 12 months. It’s now been over 18 months and I haven’t had a coffee or a soda! I replaced the two undesirable habits (soda more than coffee) with green tea. I feel mentally great and a lot healthier. This helped me lose 10 to 15 pounds without any additional changes in my sedentary lifestyle. I am proud of this accomplishment because it helped me become strong enough to attempt this next challenge.
In November of 1998, I chose to get into the best shape of my life and started on an aerobic fitness routine that involved exercising with a recumbent cycle for about 60 min a day. Within 2-3 months, I got into the best shape of my life and lost 2-3 inches off my waist. I stayed this way for over a year.
2. Wealth: I want to earn an additional $20,000/month after taxes. I currently earn enough to run my business and live comfortably with my wife and son in a beautiful home near Austin, Texas.
Accomplishments: The purpose of documenting these accomlishments is to help me recognize that I am already quite disciplined when it comes to my financial life and have years of solid habits.
I am quite disciplined when it comes to managing my finances and currently do not spend any money on frivolous items.
I spend money based on a budget and have done so for as long as I can remember. Impulse buying is not my thing. I maintained a record of expenses for years as a kid and it’s part of my lifestyle now.
So what’s my strategy? What is my plan of action?
Without a strategy or a plan, it’s virtually impossible to accomplish anything in life. So here is my overall strategy and plan for each -
1. Health:
1. Mild exercise for about 6o min a day (outdoor walking or recumbent cycle at the gym). I haven’t done this in over 6 months.
2. Take Mona Vie twice a day (2 ounces). I started doing this about 6 weeks back and my mild joint pains went away after the first 3 weeks.
3. Stay with or slightly improve my current diet – I am an average vegetarian that probably needs to eat a little bit healthier by increasing my protein and reducing my carbs.
4. Spend 15 to 20 minutes a day first thing in the morning focusing on the good things in my life and my goals. I have done this off and on over the years.
5. Spent 20 to 30 minutes a day early in the morning planning my day and identifying what I can do that day to achieve my goals. I have been doing this for years and it works quite well.
6. Don’t stress – it’s only one life and absolutely nothing is worth stressing out over. This is a tough one because we all tend to forget this on any given day. I did achieve this almost 15 years back as a student. I need to keep reminding myself of those days and that it’s possible.
7. Organize – knowing where things are and being ahead on my tasks vastly reduces my stress levels. Being organized is a way of life for me and it should be quite easy to fall back into this positive routine.
2. Wealth:
1. No radical change in my strategy. Keep doing what I have always done to make money but do the following in addition to the normal routine.
2. Mona Vie – treat this like a regular business and come up with a business plan that I can execute.
3. Slight improvements in my existing money making techniques to have the extra cash that I can invest in the Mona Vie business model.
4. Dedicate between 10 to 15 hours a week on Mona Vie.
Ground rules – I have to look at my goals every day and take daily action to achieve them. I also have to measure my progress because what I can’t measure, I can’t control.
Ok, let’s do this!
